Rig Classifications

Because our club has grown so much and has such a wide diversity of rigs,

we have instituted classifications of rigs and runs.

Please note that all trails are limited to a maximum vehicle width of 80 inches.

The classifications are generally:

Class A - Lockers, minimum 35 inch tires, winch, experienced driver.

Class B - Limited slip or open differential, minimum 33 inch tires, some experience.

Class C - Stock rigs, or rigs with 31 inch or less tires.

Runs are open to club members and their guests.

All run classifications will be announced prior to the run.

Trail boss can waive requirements depending on the difficulty

of the run and driver experience.

Who Are We?

Deschutes County 4-Wheelers club was formed in 1976 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion and expansion of four-wheeling opportunities in Central Oregon and beyond.

We welcome you to join us at a meeting.

We have members from all ages and walks of life. We welcome families as well as single wheelers, high school students to seniors.

Our club has functions year round. We have meetings once a month and generally have one or two runs per month. We have overnight runs about four to six times a year. Our runs range from easy trail runs to moderate to challenging. We enjoy trail runs, rock crawls, sand runs, mud runs and snow runs.

In addition to runs and meetings, we also enjoy pizza parties, chili feeds, campouts, Christmas parties and DVD movies of our runs.

Not only do we enjoy the great outdoors, we also volunteer to keep our public lands clean, beautiful and accessible to all. We annually participate in events such as the SOLV Beach Clean Ups, a Christmas Valley work party, and host the Horse Butte Recreational Area Clean Up.

Our club also believes in the Tread Lightly philosophy.

Deschutes County 4-Wheelers partner with the US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management to develop and maintain off-highway vehicle recreation opportunities throughout the area.
